The prices of dental treatments have sky-rocketed to such a level that looking at the option of getting a teeth whitening procedure done seems impossible. However, some procedures won't burn a hole in your pocket.

Now, home teeth whitening products will only take you so far. Most self-help kits come for a price of $100-$1000, and their effect will last depending on their quality and your expertise in using them. Other things such as whitening strips won't cost you more than $20 or so.

Teeth veneers such as porcelain veneers are more effective than general teeth whitening procedures. They are available at a price of around $1000 per tooth. Cheaper ones are available for $250. porcelain veneers should only be opted for if your teeth have undergone serious discoloration. Otherwise, the simple whitening procedure will suffice.

While general whitening procedures can be completed in one or two visits to the dentist, the procedure of veneers will require frequent, multiple visits to the clinic. This will, of course add to the cost of the already costly procedure.

Avoid using abusive techniques for teeth whitening. You may end up doing irreversible damage to them!
