Teeth whitening review
There are unfortunately certain circumstances where teeth whitening methods should not be used. They are:

  • Early age and pregnancy- The process of bleaching is not at all recommended for the children under 16. The pulp chamber and the nerve of the tooth usually develops till this age and by using such process can make the teeth of a child sensitive. Moreover, pregnant and lactating women are also not suggested to undergo teeth whitening bleaching processes.
  • Gum disease and exposed roots- Person having gum problems or worn enamel can experience more aggravated situation as the bleach tends to penetrate the teeth. This can also cause gum irritation and result in swelling. And bleach should not get any kind of access to the exposed roots as it can worsen the gums more.
  • Filling and crowns- Material used in filling or crowns do not react with gels or bleach. A bleach do not whiten these materials resulting in the uneven colouring.
  • Sensitive teeth- It is the most common case and you can find many people suffering from it. Though a sensitive teeth do not actually get hampered during the process but one must take into account the degree of the sensitivity. If your teeth are hyper-sensitive then you should not go for bleaching treatment.
