Some General Problems In Dental Implant Surgery
Dental implant is a dental surgery in which an artificial tooth root is implanted in the jaw to support artificial teeth. An artificial tooth root is used to fix an artificial tooth permanently in the place of a missing tooth.
This implantation is a surgical procedure which is accomplished in a dental clinic under some well practiced dentists. The complete process of this implantation can take several months, depending on the health of the jawbone and the type of implantation.
Dental implants can be performed to replace either one tooth or several teeth. This surgery is considered to be the safest one compared to other teeth restoration surgeries, but sometimes there also occur some problems.
General Dental Implant Problems:
Like all other surgeries the most common problem is damage and injury to tissues in the supportive area. The affected area generally swells a little temporarily. A proper care is needed as the surgical area can get bacterial infection and other microbial infection.
One of the common problems related to dental surgery is the risk of loose implant. Sometimes the root breaks in between and sometimes the teeth becomes loose implanted. In this situation the immediate repair of it, is needed.
Sometimes the nerve at implant site got damaged. This happens if the implant is done too near the nerve or on the nerve itself. This problem causes an unbearable pain to the patient. The patient should inform about it to the dentist, so that immediate action can be taken either to remove the implant or to replace it.
Before going for any dental implants one should ask all pros and cons of the surgery and should also change his/her lifestyle for the successful results.
